Vladimir Dolgov was born under the Aries, in 1953, 100 years after the birth of Van Gogh.These two circumstances are determining in life of the artist. The fire of Aries and phantom of Van Gogh has lit a palette of the "Russian Van Gogh" of the end XX centuries. "The Petrovsky courier" (the newspaper) wrote about the painter in 1998: " The style of this master is called intellectual expression by art critics. Vladimir is a very Russian painter. He opens the mysterious world, which "The Russian Soul" refers to as. The colour of Aries is red that is beautiful and heartfelt in Russian". The Van Gogh’s words are close to him: " We, artists of a modern society are only broken vessels ".
1971 –1979
Vladimir graduated from Petersburg Architectural College and the Art Faculty of Pedagogical University in Saint-Petersburg. He was a participant of underground exhibitions. Taught painting in art colleges and schools of Saint-Petersburg.
1979 – 2000
He is becoming well known. Five museums of the former USSR have bought his paintings. 129 of his paintings have been bought by the inhabitant of the USA – V.Å. Smolkin. 30 paintings have been bought by doctor Iochim Muller from Trier, Germany. 10 masterpieces have been bought by Madam Vicky Zaltsman from Toronto, Canada. Madam Monika Link, representative of the optical firm "Carl Zeiss" Germany has ordered the portrait. Vladimir’s paintings were displayed together with the paintings by the famous Russian artists XIX - XX centuries such as: Benois, Lancere, and Serebrjakowa. Since 1973 fill 2000 about 6000 paintings were painted by "Russian Van Gogh".
Now he is 46 years. He is living and working in Saint-Petersburg.

1987 - Personal exhibition of watercolour artists at Byisk
1987 - Personal exhibition in edition of a magazine "Aurora"
1988 - Personal exhibitions from Fund of Culture in St.-Petersburg
1991 - Personal exhibition in gallery "Neva 20"
1993 - Exhibition "The fathers and children" (the artists dynasties of St.-Petersburg XIX-XX).
1994 - Exhibition in Germany, Trier.
1997 - Personal exhibition in gallery "Curiosity Shop", St.-Petersburg
1998 - Personal exhibition in a Municipal Exhibition Hall of Moscow area of St.-Petersburg
